Painting Together - Any Subject |
It was a friendly, chatty meeting and there was an amazing selection of subjects. I was rather late taking the photos so apologies to the people who packed up early and weren’t included. |

Art Trading Cards |
An unusual topic for our February meeting, Art Trading Cards. This was organised by Frank Bingley who kindly provided the holders. The sheet of plastic wallets had nine compartments, each to hold the 2.5” x 3.5” cards. It was fun painting miniature pictures and was quite a challenge for the members whose style is usually big and bold. We welcomed two new members, Grace and Katie, who joined in enthusiastically. We had a lovely surprise when Ken Lilley walked in, one of our oldest members. It was the first time he had been well enough to attend in nearly two years. His wife Judith stayed with him and he painted some beautiful cards as if he’d never been away. After the tea break we put the finishings touches to our cards and trimmed them to the correct size. Then the fun began as we started ‘trading’! Swapping and choosing our favourites to fill the wallet. The photos show everyone’s cards before we swapped. A very successful evening all round. |

One Medium Meeting - Marker Pens |
There was a good turnout despite illness, freezing temperatures and flooding in surrounding areas. We welcomed a new ‘prospective member’ called Andy, who drew a very competent monochrome portrait. There was a variety of pens being used from state of the art POSCA to supermarket basics. As usual the styles and designs were incredible from soft and delicate to bright and bold, all very different. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. |
